Adults have several separate rooms for different purposes: a living room for communication, an office for work, a bedroom for relaxation. However, children have only one space – their room, where they sleep, play, receive guests and exercise.
Choosing the right room
Before starting to plan a children’s room, it is important to choose a suitable room. Parents usually allocate the largest and lightest room for the living room, but for a child such a room can be a real gift. The ideal option is a room with windows on the sunny side, without a balcony or loggia. It is also better to choose a place that is away from the kitchen and hallway. This will prevent odors from entering the room and protect against cold air through the open front door.
Security is important
If the baby already has his own room, it is important to pay attention to the safety of the room. Sharp corners of furniture, windowsills and doors can be dangerous for small children. Choose furniture with rounded corners and install soft protective pads. It is also important that the windows are sealed so as not to let in cold and moisture, which can negatively affect the child’s health.
Zoning of the premises
After choosing a room, it is important to divide it into zones for different types of activities. In the nursery, areas for study, rest and play should be defined. The workplace for classes should be in the most illuminated place, closer to the window. The workplace includes a table, a comfortable chair and places to store things. It is also important to have good lighting and a convenient outlet for the computer. Do not forget about the safety of electrical wiring so that the wires do not interfere with classes.
The rest and sleeping area should be separated from the work area. It is better to place the bed in a quiet corner, away from the window and the battery. If space is limited and there are two children, you can pay attention to bunk beds or folding options.
Game area
This area can be placed next to the recreation area or separately. For play, it is important to have a soft carpet and furniture for storing toys. Furniture must be securely fastened so that the child can safely reach and put away toys. If there is a desire, you can arrange additional elements, such as play houses or sports corners, but at the same time it is necessary to pay attention to safety during sports.
